New Addition to our Great People Blog Roll-Angry Chinese Blogger

This is a very interesting Blog. Here is the reason the Angry Chinese Blogger blogs.

Why am I blogging?

There are two reasons why I am blogging, the first of these is that I have actually lived in China, and I don't mean Taiwan or Hong Kong. I mean the real heart and body of China - Mainland China.

I have seen things that most people never get to see, and experience events from a perspective that most people do not realize exists. Naturally, I feel a need to tell people about it.

The other reason that I am blogging, the main one as things stand, is because I occasionally feel incredibly exasperated at the ignorance that is allowed to exist in the world, and by the actions of several groups who seems to be going to concerted effort to maintain this ignorance.

These groups being:

  • Politicians with a vested interest in ensuring that current events and historical accounts are recorded only in a way that is favorable to their cause.
  • Media agencies that care less about informing the public of both sides of an argument, than they do about reinforcing people's views on the side that most suits the agency.
  • Media bosses who care less about providing an fair account of the news than they do about making money.
As such, I am strongly of the opinion that too much important information is being controlled by people who shouldn’t be trusted to hand out complementary perfume samples, let alone direct public opinion.

For this reason, I decided to try and provide a source of China news that is not widely covered by the “big media”, and to cover events from the angles that they conveniently forget exist.

I also feel compelled to doing this in English, a language that is accessible to much of the world.

Out of this, the blog that is Angry Chinese Blogger was born.

Check it out here and in our Great People Blog Roll.

TV Alert: Watch the Duggars Welcome Baby No. 18!
Sure, Angelina Jolie has her hands full raising six children. But she's got nothing on Michelle Duggar: She and husband Jim Bob are about to welcome their 18th child – and they're inviting viewers to watch.

The Tontitown, Ark., family, whose show 17 Kids and Counting airs on TLC, are inviting the network's cameras to capture their next child's grand entrance in January.

Michelle and Jim Bob, who are part of the evangelical Christian movement called Quiverful, currently have seven girls and 10 boys – and plan to continue to expand their family.

"Our goal is for each one of our children to be best friends," Jim Bob told the Associated Press. "And everybody working together to serve each other makes that happen."

Genetically engineered cotton is released

WASHINGTON, Dec. 4 (UPI) -- The U.S. government says it has determined there are no food or feed safety concerns from the release of some unauthorized genetically engineered cotton.

Officials said a small amount of the unauthorized variety was inadvertently harvested along with commercially available GE cotton by the Monsanto Co. (NYSE:MON)

The safety determination was announced by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Food and Drug Administration, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service.

Monsanto said less than an acre of the unauthorized GE cotton variety was harvested along with 54 acres of a commercially available GE cotton variety. The company said the unauthorized variety produces a pesticide that is a plant-incorporated protectant nearly identical to a registered product already in a marketed corn variety.

The FDA, USDA and EPA are responsible for regulatory oversight of genetically engineered crops and their products.

Carolynn "Caz" Pal (Photo) Michael Phelps Girlfriend. Says picture is not topless?

Carolynn "Caz" Pal, the cocktail server whose risque photos threatened to tarnish the golden image of Olympic swim star Michael Phelps, says she's a victim of sensationalism.

PHOTO HERE

She's "never shot topless photos, ever. No topless, no stripping," Pal, 26, said in her first interview since the furor erupted since spending Thanksgiving with Phelps and his mother in Baltimore.

Pal agreed to the interview under one condition: that she would not discuss Phelps, who won a record eight gold medals in the Beijing Olympics for an unprecedented 14 in Olympic competition.

All that she revealed about him was that she didn't know who he was when they met at the Palms pool while she was having lunch with a girlfriend.

Someone delivered a "message," she said. That was as far as she would go.

The storm of publicity "has been really hard," she said, referring to numerous photos of her that made a splash on Web sites across the world.

Source

"Those photos are not a statement of who I am," she said. The provocative shots, taken four or five years ago, were part of a photo shoot for Beverly Hills Pimp & Hos, a popular urban clothing line favored by celebrities such as Nick Cannon, Carmen Electra and Dennis Rodman.

People "think my implied photos are topless photos and they are not. They are not nude. They are just implied."

The photos were sensationalized, she said, with stars placed over parts of the body that were not revealed.

She added, "In one, I was holding my arms across myself (breasts), and they put a big bar across my arms to make it appear I was full frontally topless."

She's convinced a friend betrayed her by sending photos from her Facebook and MySpace sites.

Some stories suggested that the Palms Moon nightclub, where she has worked since it opened two years ago, was a topless club.

Worse, her parents and friends have been "bombarded" by "lying" publications that said "they talked to me," she said.

"My parents are very conservative. I was testing their limits by being crop-top, miniskirt-wearing waitress."

She returned to her job and hopes to keep it.

"It's been like living in a fish tank the last couple days, with people tapping on the glass and me just trying to swim in little circles, like Nemo."

When I asked whether Phelps has supported her since the story broke, she pursed her lips and scrunched her shoulders, body language that screamed "no comment."

And yes, Playboy and others have contacted her.

She's not interested, she said.
