John McCain plans to make his election night remarks with a small amount of supporters and a small group of reporters on the hotel lawn; his remarks will be broadcast at a separate center for volunteers.
Only a small press "pool" - mostly those who have traveled regularly with the Senator McCain on his campaign plane, and a few local Arizona reporters and other guests will be present when McCain speaks.
Obama, by contrast, is planning a giant outdoor election night party in Chicago's Grant Park. Free to the public, but the campaign will charge media and Internet organizations a large fee for close-in spots..
