Tina Sherman's Cell phone lost in Fayetteville restaurant leads to suit over nude photos
FAYETTEVILLE - A McDonald's restaurant in northwest Arkansas and others face a lawsuit after employees allegedly posted nude photographs on the Internet off a cellular phone lost there.
Phillip and Tina Sherman of Bella Vista filed a lawsuit against McDonald's Corporation; Mathews Management Company, which owns the McDonald's franchise on Sixth Street in Fayetteville; and Aaron Brummley, a manager of the restaurant. The suit seeks more than $3 million in damages after nude photographs of Tina Sherman were posted on a Web site.
The suit claims Phillip Sherman lost his phone at the restaurant on July 5. The phone contained nude photographs his wife sent him.
Though employees promised to secure the phone until Phillip Sherman returned, his wife began receiving text messages from it, the suit claims. The photographs later made their way to a Web site.
Brummley refused to comment, referring the matter to company officials. McDonald's officials and franchise owners did not return messages seeking comment.

Jimmy Connors arrested in Santa Barbara
SANTA BARBARA, Calif. (AP) — Tennis great Jimmy Connors was arrested outside the campus arena where UC Santa Barbara and top-ranked North Carolina were playing a basketball game.
The eight-time Grand Slam champion was taken into custody Friday night after refusing to comply with an order to leave an area near the entrance of the Thunderdome following a confrontation, police Sgt. Dan Massey said in a statement.
A police dispatcher said Connors was arrested at the beginning of the game.
A Santa Barbara County jail employee said Connors had not been booked as of early Saturday.
Connors lives in the Santa Barbara area and attends a handful of the Gauchos' games each season.
Connors was ranked No. 1 for five consecutive years in the 1970s, and had a fiery temperament on the court. Earlier this year, he resigned as Andy Roddick's coach after working together for nearly two years.

Woman Wins $2.4M in First Visit to Vegas
HONOLULU — A 24-year-old woman, on her first trip to Las Vegas, is worrying less about the nation's economy. That's because Jessica Agbunag won $2.4 million on Wednesday at a Wheel of Fortune slot machine at the California Hotel and Casino.
Agbunag, a baby sitter who graduated high school in 2002, was in Las Vegas with her boyfriend and family in remembrance of her grandmother's birthday. Her grandmother was a frequent visitor to Las Vegas who loved slot machines.
The Wheel of Fortune machines were good to Agbunag.
She twice won much smaller amounts earlier this week at the same casino.
But on Wednesday, she inserted $16 into a Mega-Jackpot machine and it hit big. She said she plans to pay off a car and give some money to relatives.

Possible Caylee Anthony Sighting at Mall Investigated by Private Firm
A private investigator is looking into whether a possible sighting of missing Florida toddler Caylee Anthony has any merit. A photograph of a child resembling the 3-year-old girl taken at a west Florida mall was released on Friday, according to MyFOXOrlando.com. The picture, reportedly snapped by a shopper at the mall, was given to D & A Investigations, a firm that is working with the Anthony family. It has also been turned over to Orange County sheriffs and the FBI. D & A is asking anyone with any information on the potential sighting to call 1-888-231-5618 or emailcayleetips@yahoo.com. On Thursday, the lawyer for the tot's grandparents, George and Cindy Anthony, quit the job, saying only Caylee's imprisoned mother knows the truth about what happened. Mark NeJame indicated that he was off the case because of disagreements with the Anthonys. Their daughter Casey Anthony is jailed on first-degree murder charges in Caylee's presumed death.

Bulgarian archaeologists unearth ancient chariot
SOFIA, Bulgaria — Archaeologists have unearthed an elaborately decorated 1,800-year-old chariot sheathed in bronze at an ancient Thracian tomb in southeastern Bulgaria, the head of the excavation said Friday. "The lavishly ornamented four-wheel chariot dates back to the end of the second century A.D.," Veselin Ignatov told The Associated Press in a telephone interview from the site, near the southeastern village of Karanovo. But he said archaeologists were struggling to keep up with looters, who often ransack ancient sites before the experts can get to them. The bronze-plated wooden chariot is decorated with scenes from Thracian mythology, including figures of a jumping panther and the carving of a mythological animal with the body of a panther and the tail of a dolphin, Ignatov said. He said the chariot, with wheels measuring 1.2 meters (four feet) across, was found during excavations in a funerary mound that archaeologists believe was the grave of a wealthy Thracian aristocrat, as he was buried along with his belongings. The team also unearthed well-preserved wooden and leather objects, some of which the archaeologists believe were horse harnesses. The remains of horses were uncovered nearby. In August, excavations at another ancient Thracian tomb in the same region revealed another four-wheel chariot. Daniela Agre, a senior archaeologist at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, had said at the time that it was the first time a completely preserved chariot had been found in Bulgaria. She said previous excavations had only unearthed single parts of chariots — often because ancient sites had been looted. Some 10,000 Thracian mounds — part of them covering monumental stone tombs — are scattered across the country. Ignatov said up to 90 percent of the tombs in the region have been completely or partially destroyed by treasure hunters who smuggle the most precious objects abroad. He said the country's Culture Ministry granted euro10,000 ($12,500) for the excavation. "The money is badly needed because we are in an uneven race with looters who are often better equipped than our teams," he said. First mentioned in Homer's "Iliad" as allies of Troy, the Thracians were an Indo-European nomadic people who settled in the central Balkans around 5,000 years ago. They were conquered by Rome in the 1st century, and were assimilated by invading Slav peoples in the 6th century. They had no written language, and so left no records. Fierce warriors and horse-breeders, the Thracians were also skilled goldsmiths. They established a powerful kingdom in the 5th century B.C. Its capital was thought to be Seutopolis, whose ancient ruins lie under a large artificial lake near Shipka, in an area dubbed "the Bulgarian Valley of Kings" for its many rich tombs.

Stolen Obama Speech shows up on Ebay.
A self-identified "volunteer staff member" spirited away the binder and speech from a Las Vegas podium during the final, hectic days before the Nov. 4 election and listed it on the Internet auction site, the Los Angeles Times reported.
So far, no bids have been posted for the "Rare Sen. Obama authored speech" with a starting price of $2,500 and a Tuesday closing.
Obama is said to have written the seminal speech on race, but most of his other speeches are penned by staff and delivered by the candidate, the Times said.

Hal Steinbrenner, MLB’s Go-To Yankees Executive
Commissioner Bud Selig announced Thursday that the major league owners have formally approved Hal Steinbrenner, the Yankees’ co-chairman, to be the club’s control person after a request from George M. Steinbrenner, the principal owner.
Each major league club has a designated person who is accountable to Major League Baseball for the operation of the club and the club’s adherence to the league’s rules.
Hal was chosen by the Steinbrenner family over his more vocal brother, Hank, the other co-chairman.

Gettelfinger: Without a deal, an automaker's demise imminent
“The purpose of us gathering her today is to say that it is critically important that the Bush administration Congress reach some agreement,” and provide some assistance to the automotive industry, Gettelfinger said during a news conference in Detroit.
“While there have been disagreements about the precise mechanism about providing assistance to the auto industry, surely it should be possible to figure out how to proceed,” he said.
Gettelfinger’s comments come less than 24 hours after he appeared in Washington D.C. alongside each of the domestic automakers’ CEO’s in what turned out to be a nearly fruitless effort to ask for a $25 billion bridge loan.
During two days of hearings in the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives Gettelfigner and the UAW endured withering criticism for its wage structure with the domestic automakers. On Thursday, Gettelfinger fired back.
“We’ve been transforming for a long time” Gettelfinger said. “It is not our fault that the economy is in the tank.”
Without immediate action, Gettelfinger said, “We could see a collapse of one or more of the domestic auto companies by the end of this year.”
While the Senate has canceled a vote originally scheduled for today on an assistance package Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid today raised the prospect of calling the Senate back into session in December.
Gettelfinger on Thursday urged action, even if it is a scaled down package that could be put in place, “Until the Obama administration can put in place a long term plan to move the industry forward.”

Officials say Dems want business plan from Big 3 automakers before a bailout vote
An announcement is expected later in the day in the Capitol, where top Democrats in the House and Senate have been meeting. The officials who described the developments did so on condition of anonymity, saying they were not authorized to disclose them.
The big auto companies -- General Motors Corp., Ford Motor Co. and Chrysler LLC -- have been seeking government loans totaling $25 billion to stay in business until spring. Critics want to make sure the companies will use the money to transform their industry into one that is more competitive.
AP Special Correspondent David Espo contributed to this story.

The Unions just Shot Themselves in the Foot!!
The unions just stubborned their way out of a job. My ex has been a Union carhauler for 15 years. He was laid off in August. He was so pro Obama. And he is supposedly a Republican. My son and I told him that Obama was not going to get his job back just because he is pro Union. I pointed out that the union is not going to help when the companies go out of business. He thought the savior would save his job.
Well, two things happened. I think alot of why the market tanked was because Obama was elected and even before he was elected I think that had alot to do with the reason the market was dropping. And now because the UAW would not budge on their unreasonable demands again, they are not going to get a bailout. There may not even be a UAW someday.
….I have watched these unions for years they do nothing but complain constantly. They just complained their way out of a job.
Boy I hate being right.
