Here's Sarah Palin's doodles from when she was running for mayor of Wasilla:
Noam Sheimer, from The New Republic, found the doodles on the back of a piece of paper in the Wasilla city budget. There are more doodles by Palin, as well as the back story, here.
Sarah Palin's doodles wouldn't be such a big deal if it wasn't for the fact that a doodle by president-elect Barack Obama could be sold for six figures (and if CNN didn't make a big deal out of it by putting together this video). Wayne Berzon, a memorabilia collector, purchased an Obama doodle for $2,075 during an eBay charity auction in May of 2007. Here's that doodle:
From left-to-right, that's the Senators Charles Schumer, Harry Reid, Dianne Feinstein and Edward Kennedy.
While Berzon has been approached by a lawyer for some anonymous buyer who told him the doodle could fetch six figures in the open market, Berzon isn't interested in selling. According to the Chicago Tribune:
"I'm not sure I would sell it for any price," said Berzon, a 50-something financial consultant. "I mean, how many times can you put up a piece of original artwork by a president of the United States who also happens to have made history? It's a wonderful conversation piece."
